Timofey Bordachev, the scientific director of CCEIS, published an article "Imperial Restraint of Russia" at the Valdai Discussion Club, in which he analyzes the necessary transformations of the Russian policy in the post-Soviet region.

Lev Sokolshchik (PhD, Candidate of Science, a research fellow of the Centre of Comprehensive European and International Studies of HSE) took part in an online discussion with NATO officials. Within the framework of the meeting, issues related to global and regional security, Russia–NATO relations, the strategic force balance in Europe, and the prospects for the NATO development as a military-political block were discussed.

The American journal "The National Interest" published an article by Dmitry Suslov "Why the 2020 Election Has Become a Geopolitical Russian Roulette", which contains the comments of the research professor Fyodor Lukyanov, as well as the deputy director of CCEIS, Dmitry Suslov.<br /><br />

Alexander Korolev, Junior Research Fellow at CCEIS, published an article “Asia’s Mouse Deer Diplomacy: ASEAN in the New Bipolar Era” at the Valdai Discussion Club.

The website of the Valdai International Discussion Club published an article by a junior researcher and deputy head of the Asia-Pacific sector of CCEIS Anastasia Pyatachkova. The article "Chinese sanctions: now officially?" analyzes important changes that have occurred in China’s sanctions policy during the last few months.<br /><br />

Senior Research Fellow of CCEIS, Igor Makarov, took part in the scientific seminar “The Arctic Region: State Policy and Development in Conditions of Uncertainty”, which was organized by Valdai International Discussion Club.

On May 29, 2020, the Higher School of Economics in cooperation with the Integration club under the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation held an online roundtable discussion “Searching for a new multipolarity architecture: international cooperation of the EAEU”. The event is included in the official distributed programme of the XXI April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. During the round table, an expert report was presented, in which the staff of the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies, Higher School of Economics took part: T. Bordachev, A.B. Likhacheva, A. Korolev, A. Pyatachkova, Yu.  Belous, M. Zhiyenbayev, D. Malyutina, L. Krashennikova.

On May 12, 2020 the international conference "EAEU Strategies in the Age of New Protectionism"organized by the Eurasian Sector of the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies at the National Research University Higher School of Economics took place on the Zoom platform. Representatives of the academic and expert community from 12 countries, including EAEU member states, China, USA, Canada, Italy, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands - a total of more than 90 people - took part in the international conference in four sessions. The experts discussed the reasons, features, mechanisms and scope of potential impact of the new protectionism measures on the EAEU long-term development and proposed their vision of the most effective tools to respond to the new challenges.

Professor Timofei Bordachev, academic supervisor at CCEIS, published an article “The East’s Rise and the New Russian Foreign Policy” on the website of the Valdai Discussion Club.

From 25 to 27 September 2019 the 4th international forum “Eurasian Week” was held. The event brought together more than a thousand of expert community representatives, entrepreneurs, state-officials from the EAEU member countries and third countries. “Eurasian Week” is the biggest international business forum on the EAEU territory.

On November 15, the official opening of the academic exchange program between the Eurasian Economic Union countries was held in HSE by Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS) as a part of the research project “Developing a Modern Paradigm of the Development of the EAEU with Regard to Global Challenges”.
