Conference “Sustainable Development in the Energy Sector”

International forum on Political Economy of Energy in Europe and Russia, 17-19 April 2012, Perm, Russia

Conference Announcement / Call for papers

We invite you to take part in the fourth meeting of an international forum on Political Economy of Energy in Europe and Russia (PEEER), now jointly organized by the Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russia) and the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (Dundee, UK).

The Conference, which will be held in the city of Perm (the Ural Region, Russia), aims at bringing together about 100 leading oil and gas experts, industry representatives, government officials and academics from UK, US, Russia and other countries to discuss various aspects of the problem of sustainable development in the energy sector, including such as issues as transparency and revenue management, resource audit, mitigation of environmental impacts, natural gas production and transportation, and mechanisms of renewable energy promotion.

The third day of the Conference is allocated to early carrier researchers, who are invited to participate in the call for papers on the following topics:

-      
Political economy of sustainable development
-      Economic models in analyzing sustainable development
-      Legal and regulatory issues of resource exploitation and revenue management
-      Environmental aspects of energy production

Abstracts should be written in English language and should not be more than 500 words.

The deadline for abstracts is 20th February 2012. Results will be announced by 10th March.

The conference organizers cover accommodation and local transfer for 12 selected participants.

No registration fee involved. Travel is not paid by the organizers.

Please inform us in advance if a visa for Russia is required.
