AI, Robotization and Energy: CCEIS at HSE University and the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Present a Report on China’s Smart Industry Model

Experts from the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies at HSE University, together with colleagues from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, have prepared an analytical report titled China’s Smart Industry Model: AI, Robotization and Energy in the Context of Russia-China Cooperation.

The study examines China’s model of industrial modernization, in which artificial intelligence, robotization, digital production infrastructure and energy are considered as interconnected elements of a new model of industrial organization.

The report analyzes the mechanisms through which China moves from pilot projects to large-scale industrial adoption of technological solutions. Particular attention is paid to the role of Five-Year Plans, sectoral roadmaps, interoperability standards, smart factory development programs, demonstration sites and the “AI Plus” initiative.

The final part of the report considers the relevance of China’s experience for Russia’s industrial agenda and possible areas of Russia-China cooperation in intelligent manufacturing.
