Round table on "Extra-regional Alternatives for Latin America: Directions and Results of Bilateral Movement"

On April 8, a round table was held on the topic of "Extra-regional alternatives for Latin America: directions and results of bilateral movement", organized by the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences together with the Center for Comprehensive European and International Studies (CCEIS) of the National Research University Higher School of Economics.

The following presented reports at the round table:

- Chernykh M.A. (ISKRAN) - Immigration policy of the second administration of D. Trump.

- Pyatakov A.N. (ILA RAS) - Latin American armed forces: current state. External factors of modernization.

- Kosevich E.Yu. (HSE CCEIS) - Relations between Russia and Latin American countries after 2022: continuity and innovation.

- Vorotnikova T.A. (ILA RAS) - Brazil's chairmanship of BRICS in 2025: directions for the development of the association.

- Burtman I.P. (ILA RAS) - Outside the region, but at the center of the agenda: China is a new strategic partner of Nicaragua.

- Kramarenko A.S. (CCEIS HSE, IKS RAS) - Communities of Indian migrants in Latin American and Caribbean countries as an ethnocultural diaspora.

- Sherstyukov S.A. (CCEIS HSE) - Brazil and Turkey: rising powers in search of status.

- Belous Yu.A. (CCEIS HSE) - Specifics of the humanitarian aspect of Turkey's foreign policy in Latin American and Caribbean countries.

Each presented paper provoked a lively discussion among the round table participants.
