Eurasian Section

We're 20!

The Eurasian Section is a multifunctional unit created within CCEIS in 2017. It offers educational programmes, encourages information exchange, and carries out academic research in the field of Eurasian economic integration.

The Eurasian Section of CCEIS is the first department in the post-Soviet countries that focuses on the issues of Eurasian economic integration and provides expert and analytical support for key areas of this matter. The Eurasian Section carries out research projects for key institutions of Eurasian integration such as the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Eurasian Development Bank, and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. Among issues covered by researchers of the Eurasian Section are economic interaction between states, the development of the EAEU, global problems of regional studies, and international cooperation challenges. The section’s researchers are leading experts in Eurasian integration and their work is regularly published in world-renowned publications. The section is currently headed by Kirill Entin. The contribution of CCEIS to Eurasian economic integration was highly appreciated by the Eurasian Economic Commission with numerous letters of thanks.

Activities

Education and Training:

  • Master’s degree programme 'Eurasian Economic Integration' (starting 2019)
  • Academic courses, electives, and training courses on different aspects of the integration of former Soviet Union states and the Greater Eurasia region
  • Open course 'Eurasian Economic Integration' (RUS) in collaboration with the Eurasian Economic Commission

Scientific Research:

  • Academic papers on integration issues of the EAEU and the Greater Eurasia region
  • Analytical notes, working papers, reports, and other publications
  • Advisory services in the sphere of Eurasian economic integration

Information Exchange:

  • Official information exchange (of theoretical, practical, and analytical publications, newsletters, data and statistics, etc) between HSE University, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB)
  • Researchers and students have access to the largest publication database in the world on the topic of Eurasian integration

Scientific Events:

  • Seminars, round-table discussions, and forums for researchers and students.
