Asia-Pacific region development

World economy and politics in the context of new structural factors

The project is focused on studying the main international political and economic processes in the APR and developing the Russian strategy in this region in modern conditions in partnership with the Volga-Dnepr Group.

At the present stage of the development of World economy, the balance of power is determined not so much by economic power as by the power to operate with the availability of food and fresh water. Climate change, water and food shortages have become the new structural factors of the World economy and politics. At the same time, the main feature of the present world economy is the dynamic economic development of Asian countries and their resistance to the negative consequences of the world economic crisis.

The project represents a new approach to understanding the nature and causes of economic and political forces balance in the world based on giving priority to the problems of climate change, water scarcity and food. Earlier the power balance was determined by the presence of military power, the scale and level of economic development. But now the main lever of influence in the world arena is the competent use of new structural factors of the world economy and politics, as well as the establishment of deep partnerships with the growing countries of Asia.
