P. Pizzolo's book presentation “Eurasianism. An Ideology for the Multipolar World”
Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies invites everyone to attend the book presentation “Eurasianism. An Ideology for the Multipolar World” by Dr. Paolo Pizzolo, Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the CCEIS, HSE University. He holds PhD in Political Science, Political Theory and Political History from Sapienza University of Rome and is an expert in international relations and geopolitics.
The presentation will take place on November 18 at 16:00 (Moscow time) via Zoom.
In his book, Dr. Pizzolo examines the doctrine of Eurasianism from a geopolitical, strategic and philosophical point of view and attempts to describe an international order based on the principles of multipolarity and alterglobalism, to which this concept could lead.
Dr. Pizzolo pays special attention to the idea of Russian Eurasianism – a conservative political ideology based on the philosophy of traditionalism, geopolitical narrative, and on the idea of Russia’s special historical mission, as well as the controversial “Russian character” as one of the most important exponents.
Can Eurasia be considered a strategic continent for global hegemony? Can geopolitical theories still be an effective tool for interpreting international relations? The author tries to find an answer to all these questions in his work.
Working language: English / simultaneous translation into Russian.
Presentations will be followed by a discussion opened by:
