Ekaterina Kosevich’s article on Russia’s soft power strategy in Latin America published in the prestigious international journal Latin American Perspectives

The article, titled “Rethinking Multipolarity in Russia and Latin America in Relation to New Crises,” examines similarities and differences in how the concept of multipolarity is interpreted in Russia and across Latin American countries.
Particular attention is given to the positions of Latin American states regarding the Russia–Ukraine conflict, as well as to the emergence of a group of regional countries supporting a strategy of “active neutrality.”
The study demonstrates that existing contradictions in the understanding of multipolarity, along with differing attitudes within parts of Latin American societies toward the conflict in Ukraine, are becoming significant factors shaping the future trajectory of Russia–Latin America relations.
Latin American Perspectives is one of the leading international journals in the fields of Latin American studies and international relations. The article was first published online on April 21, 2026.
